In Adobe Reader, you can conveniently read important documents or display books electronically. It is very important for tons of PC users, but at times there are a lot of options and it can be hard to tell what to do about some problems. For example, the document you are reading may be too small to read.

The zoom function can be very easy to use. Simply hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard and then press either plus or minus to zoom in or out. This will, as it may seem, make the document look bigger and easier to see. Hold down the CTRL key once again and then press the 4 button and it will redisplay the document so that the need to scroll left and right is gone.

You are most likely using the hand tool to scroll up and down. You can actually change the mouse function so that you can select text within the document. Simply navigate to the tools menu and choose Select Cursor, which looks like the normal arrow pointer. With this you can highlight parts of the document to copy and paste them in emails or any other text document.

Microsoft Word is probably the most useful tool on the market today. Students and business owners use this program for all kinds of reasons, but sometimes it is a tedious task to find the toolbar with the mouse to change styles to bold, italics, or single and double spaced.

In Word, you can use the CTRL and 1 or 2 keys at the same time to switch from single and double spaced. This way you do not need to click the buttons at the top with your mouse, and you can even do it to individual paragraphs or even the whole document. Just highlight with the mouse what parts you need to switch around.

Again in Microsoft Word, hold down the CTRL key and press U to underline, I to italicize, or B to bold your words. You may do this to any selected part of the document or you can press on or off before you start typing. Press the same combination again to turn it off.

Holding CTRL again and pressing the space bar this time will turn on AutoCorrect. This makes it so that when you make a mistake, Word will automatically change it to what it should be, though it does not always work correctly. When you are finished, press F7 and the program will check your spelling and grammar.

Listed are only some of the great hotkeys you can use in these useful programs. If you have difficulty using these programs, the hotkeys can play an important part. Make your workday a lot more productive by implementing them in your tasks.
